Before the world changed in 2020, I had the incredible chance to dive into the magical, mystical world of Thra at The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Exhibition at London’s BFI Southbank. And let me tell you—it was like stepping right into the heart of one of my all-time favourite universes.

This immersive exhibition ran for a short but magical window from August 23 to September 6, 2019, perfectly timed to celebrate the prequel series’ premiere on Netflix. For fans like me, it was a dream come true—a blend of nostalgia and awe at the sheer craftsmanship of the Dark Crystal world.

🐦 Wondrous Puppets and Props

The centrepiece of the exhibition? The incredible puppets and props that made Age of Resistance so enchanting. Seeing the Gelfling, Podlings, and even the unsettling Skeksis up close was a jaw-dropping experience. Every detail was immaculate, from the delicate stitching on their costumes to the intricate mechanisms that brought these characters to life.
