Exciting news for puppetry artists and enthusiasts! Applications are now open for Newcastle Puppetry Festival 2026, taking place (funding dependent) from April 4–12, 2026, in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your puppetry work to a dynamic festival that celebrates the art form in all its shapes and sizes. We are seeking a wide range of performances and workshops, including:
🎭 Indoor stage shows – for adults, teens, families, and early years audiences
🌍 Outdoor roaming and stage performances
🎪 Cabaret acts, sideshow oddities, and unique puppetry experiences
🎓 Masterclasses and workshops
🔮 Anything else that fits within the world of puppetry, object theatre, stop motion animation, kinetic art, and automata
💡 What You Need to Know:
✔️ All selected artists will be paid for their performances/workshops
✔️ Travel, food, and accommodation will be covered
✔️ Applications are welcome from artists worldwide, and we strongly encourage submissions from underrepresented groups in the creative industries
